Obedience Requirements

We do require obedience classes before our agility classes, because there are several dogs running in a confined space, sometimes off leash, the environment can get exciting and you need to be able to control your dog.  If you are not sure if your dog is ready for agility answer the following questions.  If you can answer yes to all these questions your dog is ready for Exploring Agility.  If you have further questions please contact us.  For Puppy Agility we only require prior puppy obedience training, your puppy should have worked with you in a class setting prior to your Puppy Agility class.

We recommend AllBreed Obedience for classes, but any school will qualify, if your dog can perform the following things.

Does your dog respond to their name?

Can your dog hold a sit stay for 30 seconds?

Can your dog hold a down stay for 90 seconds?

Can your dog hold a wait until you give them the next command?

Does your dog come when called?

Can your dog walk on a leash without pulling?

Will your dog sit to meet a friendly stranger?
